People Can't Change... Until the Pain Has Done Its Work
Awareness grows in proportion to introspection. Pain calls our attention within. The invitation to examine abandoned or overlooked "relevant impressions" of the past cannot be ignored, except if you don't mind the alarm signal going on snooze, only to return in a different tone, (sometimes louder). Escapism through music, movies, materialism, egotism, fame, or lashing out to "share the misery", can only extend the snooze time. At some point (hopefully before irreparable damage), the call to the depths of the soul must be answered - Shadow Work. Sitting with the uncomfortable past and bringing it back to life in imagination to address your traumas, will avail you the opportunity for transmutation, (or alchemy).
