People Can't Change... Until the Pain Has Done Its Work
Awareness grows in proportion to introspection.
Pain calls our attention within.
The invitation to examine abandoned or overlooked "relevant impressions" of the past cannot be ignored, except if you don't mind the alarm signal going on snooze, only to return in a different tone, (sometimes louder).
Escapism through music, movies, materialism, egotism, fame, or lashing out to "share the misery", can only extend the snooze time.
At some point (hopefully before irreparable damage), the call to the depths of the soul must be answered - Shadow Work.
Sitting with the uncomfortable past and bringing it back to life in imagination to address your traumas, will avail you the opportunity for transmutation, (or alchemy).
A chance to rewire our memories, renovating our inner spaces with new narratives that empower us and empathize with our abusers, who themselves were victims of poor circumstances and deep ignorance - sleepwalking
It takes years of therapy and self-care, through meditation, counseling, research, and steady application of practical findings.
This painful process strips us of our old identities and attachments.
Our meanings get redefined and our understanding receives a face-lift.
Only after this tedious, messy, and nerve-wracking process can change begin.
This is why change can't come from external motivation, advice, or threats.
It comes through inspiring a willingness to honor an invitation from our inner child, to sit and have a long, painful, uncomfortable chat, analyzing why things had to occur in the sequence they did.
In this chat, we discover how every one of our weaknesses is indeed a superpower - a chip on our shoulder - an unfair advantage in the world of unconscious sleepwalkers.
The privilege of childhood trauma is only reserved for great souls on a highly classified and vital mission for humanity.
You are lucky to have earned your stripes before you had a choice to decline the Mission.
Your current position as a main character in your life's unfolding story is highly beneficial, compared to that of the billions of NPCs in this 3D game called Life.
Wear your scars with pride.
Embrace vulnerability, as a filter for ill-intentioned people.
They show your medals of honor, having fought the good fight and came out, standing tall.
Long-suffering has been mastered by your inner child, permitting the development of a deadly warrior, capable of taking hits and brushing it off as pats on the back.

You are as amazing now, as you were when you got selected to shoulder this responsibility of sensibilities.
Honor your call from the depth of your soul - the seat of wisdom - the throne of your kingdom - the light of your path - the source of your bliss.
Thank you for your service.
