Survival By All Means: IG Video Caption

Image
I know how short-spanned the average attention is online. It's like walking into a loud and crowded room, and then speaking to yourself with the confidence that no one can hear you. Writing has been the best form of therapy I could find. It used to be music, but I have had to pause that side for a bit. When I get a new sound card and a DJ turntable, it's over for this hiatus. For now, I make posts online as proof of life. Funny I was telling a friend this on Tuesday, only to see it in another friend's caption later that night. Meaning, "We plenty wey dey feel like that". Anyway, about this video. This was my last blog entry on Aug 17th. I owe my blog 3 posts. For the 18th, today and tomorrow. (I post every Saturday & Sunday). PS: I might just make this caption Long enough for a blog post. As I was saying. This video is a new concept I'm trying out for converting my blog posts into videos and podcasts. I know people are too busy to read. "I say...

Groomed for Doom - The Last Round

Image
In 2002, two teenagers forged an unbreakable bond in their small town's rough, unforgiving neighborhoods. Jason, the older of the two, was tough, determined, and desperate for a way out of the cycle of poverty. Younger and full of untapped potential, Caleb looked up to Jason as his hero. They found their escape in an unlikely place: a rundown boxing gym at the edge of town, where the smell of sweat and hope filled the air. Jason: "You gotta keep your guard up, Caleb. This ain’t just about throwing punches. It’s about thinking. Outsmarting the guy in front of you." Caleb (panting): "I know… I’m trying, but you make it look easy." Jason (smirking): "It’s never easy. That’s why we’re here. No one’s gonna hand us anything. We gotta fight for it. You ready for that?" Caleb (determined): "Yeah. I’m ready." They would spar for hours after watching clips of their boxing heroes. The future was bright and they couldn't help but daydream their names...

Survival By All Means - The Provoe Understanding

The mind is a collection of memories, optimized for survival. From a toddler yet to know not to put their hand in a fire, we have developed higher levels of consciousness, enabling us to survive, navigate, and thrive. Some lavishly souring, the majority barely getting by.  It's a big world, with competition for scarce resources and opportunities for contribution to the human experience. Through expanding our self-awareness and soul expression, we crave a validation of our right to be here and collaborate for notoriety in our community. We need some form of assurance that we will be protected from all forms of pain, misery, and suffering - to be fed, clothed, and sheltered continuously until we give up this meat-suit for recycling by the forces of nature. What happens after we exit this realm is still a debate amongst those who struggle to accept the ego's death. We try to build systems that cement our existence on this planet.  Not knowing whether or not our memory will live o...

Standing Up for Ourselves

Image
Even though it’s not easy, and it might cost you something seemingly significant as you possibly face criticism, today is the day to stand up for yourself. The truth is, by not standing up for your worth because you think it will cause conflict, you are accepting to harbor the said conflict internally, within you, which will displace your mental well-being and peace of mind, which you cannot afford in the long term.  Short-term pain for long-term gain is the best formula. We’re good at tricking ourselves into thinking we have too much to lose by protecting the status quo. But this is an illusion, cos you would only be losing what was harming you. This is a gain, not a loss. You’ve gained peace, self-respect, and happiness. If you stand up for yourself and your value, and it results in some people, jobs, or partners not wanting you anymore, then be grateful that this necessary adjustment happened sooner rather than later, and you’ve successfully cut ties with something that didn’t d...

Would I Be A Failure For Quiting Forex?

Image
Lamenting how I blew up trading accounts, or how difficult it has been predicting the market in an attempt to become profitable wouldn't be a good use of your time. I thought I had reached my breaking point when I quit soccer betting and would drop forex trading for good. But you know, when the reality of my situation hit me, I realized I was only fooling myself, as I had gone too far to turn back. This is my story. In the first quarter of 2015, freshly graduated from the University with a useless degree in Agriculture, majoring in Animal Science, I knew I wouldn’t look for a job on any farm, nor did I have a piece of land to cultivate and practice what I learned. I dreamed of being financially independent and believed music would take me there if I had the capital to build my studio, (where I would practice music production, release albums, and make a ton of money). The only legal means of generating large sums of money within a short period of time I knew was ...

Is There Just ONE Way To Do Life?

Image
Every popular idea was developed to tackle a particular challenge, of a people, in a geographical location, with its peculiar characteristics, for that dispensation... Time was a huge factor. Technology and information have come a long way, showing us how effective a change of mind can be. You're not a stone. You can change your mind on any subject matter. You might need enough evidence to do it, but you will eventually change your mind. Q: "Why is it hard to live in harmony with the masses, once you indicate a deviation from their predominant pattern of thoughts and convictions?"  A: How they live is a deep program, so they fear losing themselves if they entertain your new ideas. The propagandist goes through the back door, manipulating and influencing your subconscious mind. Rather than clashing with your ego, they target your shadow self. The sides to your psyche that are unknown to you, due to your unwillingness to evolve. The rules of the land were set for NPCs until...

Life Is Doing Just Fine

Image
This morning, I watched a video of a wealthy, influential businessman who was loved for contributing to his community and praised for being a huge motivation to the average man. His house (sorry... his ESTATE) was so huge that he rode a bike through the different quarters, at full speed, and there was enough space to enjoy himself as a kid would in a park. He had too many luxurious cars for a garage, so they were assembled outside in front of his different quarters, each comprising multiple-story mansions, with lavish designs. His courtyard crawled with people, well-wishers, and guests, taking pictures, making videos, and trying to get his attention. Unfortunately, this video was narrated by a sad voice, mourning his early departure from this realm. I didn't get the full details, but he is dead. It got me thinking about how many people would be scheming to take over all these properties and possessions he left behind. From his business partners, down to his drivers and cleaners. Hi...
