Survival By All Means - The Provoe Understanding

The mind is a collection of memories, optimized for survival.

From a toddler yet to know not to put their hand in a fire, we have developed higher levels of consciousness, enabling us to survive, navigate, and thrive.

Some lavishly souring, the majority barely getting by.

It's a big world, with competition for scarce resources and opportunities for contribution to the human experience.

Through expanding our self-awareness and soul expression, we crave a validation of our right to be here and collaborate for notoriety in our community.

We need some form of assurance that we will be protected from all forms of pain, misery, and suffering - to be fed, clothed, and sheltered continuously until we give up this meat-suit for recycling by the forces of nature.

What happens after we exit this realm is still a debate amongst those who struggle to accept the ego's death.

We try to build systems that cement our existence on this planet.

Not knowing whether or not our memory will live on in the heads and hearts of our loved ones, we strive to leave a mark behind.

Our survival on planet Earth and beyond is mainly what we care about.

This attachment to our self-identity could be healthy when we care about the survival of other souls we meet along our journey, shining our light and spending our energy in service for the greater good.

But when we put our survival on a level of importance that threatens that of our neighbors - strangers, family, and friends, we become selfish and compromised.

We become drones, programmed to carry out the capitalistic agendas of enslaving mankind to silver and gold.

The stories we hear about what money does to families and friends will always amaze us.

The nature of man is one of "Survival By All Means"!

This is evident in the ways we interact and transact in our daily lives.

Self-preservation extends beyond seeking basic survival needs.

Social standing is also a key factor.

Once our position in the social hierarchy elevates, we are pressured to maintain this level or rise higher.

Our ego gets hurt when we feel disrespected for not meeting expectations.

This pressure creates a quiet desperation to raise the stakes.

We begin to look for ways to increase our estate, sometimes to the detriment of others around us.

Other animals also exhibit this "survival by all means" program.

You see the food chain being respected.

This shows up in the way all consciousness organizes itself.

You are occupied with either trying to eat or not get eaten.

This is ingrained in the DNA of living things. Evolution, it is called.

So, how do we ensure we don't fall to the level of unconscious animals?

We only stay conscious when we learn that we are not our bodies.

We are not our minds.

We are not our public facade. We are not our dreams.

We are not our failures.

We are the observer within, having an experience of this rollercoaster called life.

You see unconsciousness online in many forms.

Videos, comment sections, and crazy stories remind us of our fallible nature.

People being people.

No exceptions to the rule.

From cheaters caught in the act, and denying that it wasn't what it looked like... to business partners doing the unthinkable to one another.

When caught in an unsavory act, the natural but unconscious reaction is to lie, gaslight, and become defensive.

The idea is to shift the goalpost so far that the VAR is invalidated.

Our brains go into overdrive, trying to prove our innocence. Even though it would have been easier to confess and seek forgiveness.

Tell us in the comments. What have you experienced as a symptom of the "Survival By All Means" DNA?

We have all done something outrageous before.

Mine goes back to my earliest memories, as far back as 6 years old.

I have been a selfish fellow in many ways.

But the more I recognize the strength of the self-preservation mechanism, the more gracious I am towards myself and others I encounter on my journey of becoming.

The mistakes I have made baffled me to my core, to the point where I decided to embark on a deep shadow work.

I had to bring to my conscious awareness all the hidden tendencies that made me weak enough to parasitize another soul for my own selfish survival.

I urge you to do the same.

Therapy will help you get to the root of what makes you tick.

Your shadow side cannot be neglected forever.

If you refuse to attend to it, its impact will compound and your life will be complicated unnecessarily.

Read the right books, make the right friends, and become your highest version by pruning away all unwanted elements you find in your being.

See you in the comments.
