Life Is Doing Just Fine

This morning, I watched a video of a wealthy, influential businessman who was loved for contributing to his community and praised for being a huge motivation to the average man.

His house (sorry... his ESTATE) was so huge that he rode a bike through the different quarters, at full speed, and there was enough space to enjoy himself as a kid would in a park.

He had too many luxurious cars for a garage, so they were assembled outside in front of his different quarters, each comprising multiple-story mansions, with lavish designs.

His courtyard crawled with people, well-wishers, and guests, taking pictures, making videos, and trying to get his attention.

Unfortunately, this video was narrated by a sad voice, mourning his early departure from this realm. I didn't get the full details, but he is dead.

It got me thinking about how many people would be scheming to take over all these properties and possessions he left behind.

From his business partners, down to his drivers and cleaners.

His personal assistant, accountant, bank account manager, family, and friends will all have a field day, reassigning ownership and attaching their emotions, interests, and intentions to objects they haven't earned or paid for.

Meanwhile, "Life is doing just fine."

Consciousness doesn't care what kind of container it dwells in.

Its main objective is to find expression while experiencing its illusion of separation.

Through movement, growth, and replication it perpetuates itself, switching from one medium to another.

As water turns to vapor and back to the ice in the clouds, so does life move, from inanimate minerals to highly complex systems, then back to inanimate materials.

For example, the iron (Fe) powering the mitochondria in a living cell is just as conscious as the chlorophyll converting sunlight into energy during photosynthesis - a magical process necessary for our food. Depending on the living soil for microbes, plants feed animals.

Life is busy, animating electrons, giving rise to atoms, molecules, cells, tissues, organs, systems, and complex organisms to express creativity.

Life is doing just fine.

We are a small part of this grand project, infinite in its unfolding.

But our huge egos will always blow our self-importance out of proportion.

Fighting over petty things we will leave behind, we forget how precious, transitory, and fickle life can be. This is folly.

All matter gets redistributed, irrespective of the intention behind its accumulation.

Legacies rarely survive the third generation.

Buildings grow old and dilapidated as inflation raises the cost of maintaining the inheritance.

Cars get scrapped.

Children rundown businesses their parents toiled to establish... And "Life is doing just fine".

When we awaken to the reality that none of these vanities can be absorbed or merged into our being, we gradually slow down and smell the flowers on our path.
  • How much can we eat before enjoyment leads to a doctor's appointment?
  • How much balling can we flex before we attract envy, jealousy, hatred, and greed?
  • How many corners can we cut before we get caught up in a sad situation or bad fate?

We will only have the peace we know to gift ourselves, in relationships, environment, circumstances, and awareness of self, as we realize this game of life has an unpredictable end.

When we align with truth we learn life.

Fighting cannot change the living conditions of the parties involved.

Life will change its form, seeking expression by any means necessary.

The dead bodies will nourish microbial life.

Land fought over will still accommodate the bones of the warriors.

And guess what, 300 years later, the bones will be dug up by archaeologists and historians.

The land will remain in position.

The men will remain forgotten. "Life, on the other hand, is doing just fine." - Provoe
