Standing Up for Ourselves
Even though it’s not easy, and it might cost you something seemingly significant as you possibly face criticism, today is the day to stand up for yourself. The truth is, by not standing up for your worth because you think it will cause conflict, you are accepting to harbor the said conflict internally, within you, which will displace your mental well-being and peace of mind, which you cannot afford in the long term. Short-term pain for long-term gain is the best formula. We’re good at tricking ourselves into thinking we have too much to lose by protecting the status quo. But this is an illusion, cos you would only be losing what was harming you. This is a gain, not a loss. You’ve gained peace, self-respect, and happiness.
